Student Transportation

We are committed to working with families to ensure that every student has a safe way to get to and from school every day.  Students walk here, take the bus and the train.  We open our doors at 7:30 AM everyday to welcome students to the building for the day.

Eligibility for Transportation 

Each student is determined eligible for different types of transportation services based on the student grade level and the distance from home to the school.

Less than .5 mile: Not eligible for any transportation services

More than .5 mile: Eligible for OMNY Card

Student OMNY Cards

We are providing our students with OMNY tap-to-go passes for subway and city buses. Schools will distribute OMNY cards to students.  This will allow eligible students to get to and from school and school-related activities for free—and ride for free on weekends and all year, too. Student OMNY Cards are:

  • Distributed exclusively by your school. You can’t get a Student OMNY Card from the MTA.

  • Good for 4 free rides each day. You can tap a Student OMNY Card whenever you want to take up to 4 free trips every day of the week, any time of the day.

    • This includes a free transfer between the subway and local, limited, and Select Bus Service buses, or a free transfer between buses.

  • Valid all year long. Your Student OMNY Card doesn’t expire until the next school year.

Getting help with Student OMNY Cards

If your card is lost or stolen, let us know right away. They’ll deactivate your old card and get you a replacement.  If your card isn’t working when you tap it, ask a station agent or bus operator for help. If your card still doesn’t work, return it to us for a replacement.

Yellow Bus Service

Only students who have transportation recommended on their Individualized Education Program IEP or 504 Accommodation Plan (504), or have an approved medical exception from the Office of Pupil Transportation, are eligible for curb-to-school transportation.  Sign up for your NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) to view information on your child’s transportation services and busing information.
